120th Meeting Artist
Alison Fenech Gasan - Fused Glass Artist
The 120th Art Discussion Group Meeting will be held on Wednesday 16th April 2014 at 19.30hrs at MISCO OFFICE (first floor) Fino Building in Notabile Road, Mriehel. ADG is inviting the custom- decorative-glass artist Allison Fenech Gasan, an eclectic who works with great passion, to meet its members and friends.
She is a participant among 70 artists taking part in the ADG Art Collective Exhibition in May 2014 at Cavalieri Art Hotel, St. Julians. The artist will answer questions from the floor regarding her vision, concept, and career. She will also elaborate about technique and exhibit some of her tools and original work. Hers is an applied art.
She runs her own custom decorative glass company in Malta. The company is Stained Glass Ltd., which is a subsidiary of AMAL Group. Over the past 21 years she has acquired experience both in design and execution of work. She chose to work with glass as she loves creativity and work from design concept to production.
She enjoys it
because as an artist, she is motivated by new concepts and
discoveries. Her art is inspired by various styles and schools, by
nature and local scenes and landscape, masterpieces of the
masters and images based on paintings. She feels that themes selected by
customers are also a challenge and a delightful diversity.
Being creative with light and colour, and working in glass her work offers many exciting and creative challenges. Growth in life, development in design, expansion in business is what drives and comforts her.
Her design is simple and direct. At times she is driven by geometric patterns, in other work she becomes purely figurative.
She shows a preference for Van Gogh though she adopts what her fancy chooses interpreting varied themes such as life in an aquarium or cypress trees in a landscape. She fuses glass, uses frosted textures, transparent and matt surfaces and a certain delicacy and positive joy and enjoyment in her work. Decoration is her art. She asserts self and feel fulfilled in new concepts and discoveries.
