109th Meeting Artist
Louis Mifsud - a versatile watercolourist
The Art Discussion Group Meeting will be held on Thursday 21st February 2013 at 19.15hrs at MISCO OFFICE (first floor) in Fino Building in Notabile Road, Mriehel.
For this meeting the Society is inviting Louis Mifsud (1948-) a draughtsperson/designer by profession at the Malta Drydocks. With more time to spare after an early retirement, he turned in 2006 to artistic creativity. He specialized in architectural subjects but found that he was also versatile in portraiture, still life and rural subjects.
Louis Mifsud has an incisive line, strong definition, is meticulously clean and his precision is almost clinical. The atmosphere of the narrow winding streets, the space projected, the pregnant silence, the empty, tangible and eloquent spaces demonstrate that Louis can effortlessly suggest mood. His other interests are reading, study and modelling of aircraft of WW2 and aerodynamics.
He has taken part in a few collective art exhibitions notably 'New Faces' at Gallery G, 'Artgems' and 'Unity in Diversity' at the Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. ADG invites its members, their friends and the general public to this cultural and artistic event.
The programme will also include a brief exposition about Anthony Lucian Cauchi’s (1948-) exhibition at the Malta Society of Arts, Manufacture and Commerce in March 2013 and introduce Romanian artist Catalina Danila (1974-), Master in Arts, University faculty of Decorative and Design, Ceramic and Experimental.
