95th Meeting Artist
Seven ADG Members and their Works
The Art Discussion Group (ADG) will be holding its 95th meeting on Thursday 23rd June 2011 at19.15hrs at MISCO Training Centre (first floor on right) in Fino Showrooms in Notabile Road, Mriehel. This meeting reflects the proposal made during this year’s general meeting by Anthony Caruana of Paola, a sculptor and founder-member of the Society. Anthony Caruana suggested that ADG invite a number of member artists to participate in a critical appreciation of their work.
The ADG organising Committee has invited William Azzopardi, Mary Attard, Anthony Caruana, Joseph Casapinta, Martin Formosa, Dolores Lungaro Mifsud, and Salvu Mallia to take not more than two works for eventual evaluation by the floor chaired and led by the chairman of ADG E. V. Borg.
The artists invited include painters, sculptors, photographers and ceramists. The media used by the artists are quite varied. William Azzopardi is a watercolourist, Mary Attard is a photographer of character: lyrical and sensual, actually exhibiting at the Intercontinental Hotel Club Lounge at St. Julians, Joseph Casapinta works in oils and acrylics, Martin Formosa in soft pastel, Dolores Lungaro Mifsud is a ceramist of great elegance and sensitivity that is exhibiting in the Eros & Kenosis Collective and has recently participated in the Exhibition of Ceramics 2011 organised by ADG while Salvu Mallia is a well know Expressionist with a bold chromatic palette and fond of drama.
Members , friends and the general public are invited to attend this meeting before ADG breaks for the Summer. This meeting might attract new members after the relative success of events such as the Seminar of Ceramics 2011 and Cari Privitera’s much appreciated personal exhibition both organised by ADG at Cavalieri Hotel St. Julians.
